Rust orange, rustic décor and a wedding dress bib! - Maddie and Josh

There were a few unique twists to this celebration that caught our attention. Firstly, the bride’s eye for detail was next level. Maddie and our team spent a good half hour evenly manoeuvring chairs in the Log Barn Ceremony room. The whole Oaks team thrive off this ocd vibe and between Maddie and the staff, we ensured there was at least a 5cm gap between each highly polished white chair! The Oaks loves being there for these small but extremely important moments! We helped Josh organise for flowers and a card to welcome Maddie to the Bridal Prep the morning of the wedding, another beautiful detail. Our personal fave wedding day accessory however was Maddie’s wedding bib, to guarantee her beautiful wedding dress stayed pristine!

We asked Maddie to talk us through her Oaks wedding . . .

Our wedding day was just as I imagined it to be- if not even better! We stumbled across the Oaks through a family friend and it was a relatively new venue when we booked. We had looked at many of our local barn type venues but something about the Oaks stood out. It had the perfect relaxed, rustic feel and was a blank canvas, ready for us to decorate as we wished. My favourite colour has always been orange so I knew that had to be our colour scheme in some way- rust is not just an autumnal colour! I also thought it went with the barn colours so well. I mostly did my research via Pinterest and Instagram to get my inspiration.

We had both our ceremony and reception at the Oaks. When I walked into The Forest Room on the day, it was even more magical than I anticipated. Both the venue and the venue dresser had an incredible eye for detail, it was even better than I (and my pinterest board) envisioned!

After our ceremony, our guests mingled in the entrance area to the relaxed music from our guitarist with a welcome drink- both of which were well received. We worked with The Oaks to create a tailor-made drinks package to suit our guests and the time of year (pimms!). We then went with the photographer to the woodland area and this is where our favourite photos were taken. The grounds of the Oaks were one of our favourite parts and thankfully, the weather stayed dry so we were able to make the most of it.

After our confetti throw and speeches, we tucked into a delicious meal provided by The Oaks in-house caterers Ridgeway. The food was a big part of the day for us and it did not disappoint! The number of people that approached us and said it was the best wedding food they had ever eaten says it all!

As people queued up for treats from our dessert table, our DJ set up and this was when the party really got started! All night, the dancefloor was full, with people only leaving to enjoy the evening food - noodles (another fabulous choice of food!). DJ Duncan really knew how to read the room and played so many great tunes. A big thank you to the bar staff too who kept making the jagerbombs that 'the rowdy table' were ordering from as soon as we sat down!

All of the staff at the Oaks exceeded our expectations and there isn't one thing I'd change about our day (apart from maybe how emotional I was throughout it!) Thank you so much to everyone, especially Julie and Rianna who were always there to make sure everything ran perfectly.

Our guests stayed at the Hilton garden inn the night of the wedding and some the night before too. Many guests pre-organised minibuses to shuttle to and from the hotel meaning transportation at the end of the night was sorted.
