Planning a Spring Wedding?

Spring is a time for new beginnings and we loved kicking off the new wedding season with this magical day for Sara and Luke.

Who better to explain how they created their perfect spring wedding day than asking the bride herself . . .

Sara:

‘We knew from the day we got engaged we wanted a spring wedding. There is just something beautiful about the flowers and atmosphere of spring. It was extremely easy for us to plan as we are both very laid back and knew exactly what we wanted. We wanted colour, a room full of love and a calm and relaxing day. We booked The Oaks on 19th January 2022, shortly after viewing the barn. We knew before we even stepped into the building that we wanted a rustic stripped back look, the barn was everything and more! We did have doubts at first, thinking is it too rustic? But we realised it was completely us and represented our personalities perfectly. We didn’t need a venue dresser and did all the styling ourselves. The big upcycled cable drum tables look fab with either minimal or o.t.t décor, not much at all was needed decorate them. We picked up vintage bottles and trinkets from an antique shop in Uttoxeter, the colours of which matched our candles and table runners beautifully. From the minute we booked the venue, we tried to sort all of our suppliers sooner rather then later so we had no stresses closer to the day.

The day its self:
We could not have created this day without the amazing people behind the scenes. Every single part ran smooth and even though it started to rain on our day, Julie and team rushed to get everything prepped for us to enter the building as quickly as possible. The ceremony in the log barn was so romantic and intimate, it was everything we wanted and more.

We opted for a scone tower rather then a traditional wedding cake. We love cake, don’t get me wrong but Luke stole my heart by taking me to a tea room. Afternoon tea being my fave thing, I wanted to incorporate it into our day. We knew that scones were going be involved in our wedding whether it was to be as a tower or a dessert!

We both could not fault anything about the day its self, so many compliments off our guests saying they have never been to a wedding so beautiful.

Thanks again Julie and Team’
